Two rental properties in Southampton to receive an electrical overhaul

Well it has been a busy April and we are now enjoying a wet bank holiday! Although we have had some good weather at the weekends recently in Bishops Waltham why is it that the sun comes out when we have to work and then rain comes when we are enjoying a break. I do have to pop into Hedge End at some point over the weekend to pick up some electrical supplies for a couple of jobs starting next week though. My only work related task for this bank holiday. Great!
Next week then we start work on a property in Orchard Road, Southampton for a local property letting company. The property needs a new consumer unit. There are some other minor jobs to do such as replacing sockets, light fittings and bonding to water. From the pictures below you can see that the electrics are not in a good condition, the ceiling light fitting is hanging on by ‘a wing and a prayer’ and the electrics have blown in the re-wireable fuse unit; you can see the scorch mark above the fuse. Luckily for the next tenants the landlord has agreed to bring the electrics up to date.
Also, for next week we have a property in Sholing, Southampton which needs a new consumer unit and various other jobs including bonding to water and gas.
A busy week ahead.
